For the first time in a long time, we had family for the holidays. Aaron's parents came for a visit and we enjoyed the sights and sounds of Tama Recreation Area. Very interesting history. This was once the munitions arsenal for the Japanese Army during World War II. It was never detected by the Allies and when the war was over, the American government used it to store munitions for the Korean war. The grounds are covered with old roads, out buildings, and warehouses. Pretty cool place. Anyway, they have renovated part of it with cabins and a restaurant, and quite frankly it's a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and just take in the sights and tranquility that is Tama.
