Friendship Festival

Tayko Drumming. If I could keep a beat, I might consider joining them. Anyway, I love Tayko drumming, it's really cool to hear.
Laura is holding Sophie and Jessica is on my right.
Great girls, lucky to have them as friends!

On top of the fire engine!
Waiting in line...

Friendship Festival is an annual event, a combo of an airshow (mostly static displays) of Japanese and American Airplanes, and a state fair. It's one of the things Yokota does to promote good relations between us and the Japanese Nationals. The gates are open and it's the one time of year anyone is allowed on base-specifically chosen parts of base-but base just the same.

Needless to say it's a people fest, 200,000 people come for the weekend and it was HOT!!!
Talked to our friends-he's a DJ on base-and their equipment broke in the heat.
We went later in the evening when in was cooler and the firemen would spray the attenders on occasion-which we all love and was much appreciated.

Aaron got to catch up on some friends he knew when we were stationed back in Little Rock and watched the drumming. Fireworks at the end made for a perfect evening!
