The eagle has landed

Well, the Miner's have landed anyway. We are in Japan, in Temporary housing and because we crossed the international date line tomorrow is Saturday so we have the weekend to get used to some things before Monday when we can find out the status of our permanent housing and start getting established.

Japan-first impressions: smoggy, not as congested as I thought (I pictured New York City on steroids and some places are like that, but it's much more spread out than I thought), will take lots of time to get used to the right hand driving, very friendly natives (got a welcome from someone just walking through the airport terminal and Sophie's hair has been rubbed already).

All in all-very good day, the girls were AWESOME on the plane, did great on the 3 hour drive after a 9 1/2 hour plane ride and are amazing!! We are happy to be unpacking suitcases and getting used to an entirely different culture.

Will post pictures soon!
