I know it's hard to see the difference, but I knew I would have to change the covers since we bought chairs with white seat covers - not by choice, really, but necessity- I found some upholstery fabric (to my shock), and covered them myself. I found scotch-guard (another shocking experience) and followed the directions. Actually it said that 2 light coats were better than 1 heavy coats so I put on 5 light coats. Should be stain free for at least a week...
