First days

God worked so fast and so completely with a preschool in town, that it was one of those times that I later sat back and thought, "I guess Sarah is going to preschool". We have had Sarah in a preschool program with kids with disabilities of varying degree to get them used to the expectations of a mainstream program and to give kids like Sarah an incredible experience to be with these great kids and let her grow as a person filled with empathy and compassion. We started this program last year and was wonderful. This year has been different and although it's been so fun to see her grow and change with the experience, the goals we set for her weren't being met. The preschool programs here are very hard to get into with years on waiting lists, so the thought of changing her school was daunting to say the least.

There is one program in town that far exceeds all others, and of course the waiting list is even longer. This was the program that we wanted and Brent and Heather were wanting for Olivia. In a matter of a day, we were both accepted into the program, apparently I put Sarah on the waiting list 2 years ago and our name happened to come up, and Olivia got a spot as well, just as "coincidentally". God is so great that He put our 2 girls in the same classroom which is even more of a miracle. So last Tuesday was Sarah's big first day of school and she was ready for it. She marched right in, followed me around a little then spread her wings and flew. She was amazing. Olivia was sick so she got to have her first day on Thursday. Again, to our surprise, she fell right into place and soared. It was amazing. Pictures are not plentiful, but are near and dear to our hearts.
