Things we do for fun

  • Treadmill: Yes we have one, yes it taunts me, yes it's covered in dust, but when we open it up, it's endless fascination for Sarah.
  • Shredded paper from the shredder: Ticker tape parade, even Sophie gets into the action, it's one of our favorite games to play, usually done right before I have to vacuum the ENTIRE house, but it's worth it
  • The Van: Too many buttons and things that go "Blinky Blinky" with a horn that honks and seats that go flat. If you think a mini-van isn't cool, talk to a little kid, they'll set you straight
  • Bed sheet Tents: duh, classic childhood favorite
  • Computer games: Yes, well, it's really fun to watch Sarah get better at games as she tries them out on her own. Favorite website: www.pbskids.org
  • Favorite Family Magazine: "Family Fun", great ideas, and Holly, the cover this time has a birthday cake that looks like a sand castle, so cool
  • Molly: hook her up to a leash and hold on
  • The New BIKE!: Tonight was the first time since her birthday that we haven't been on it and that was because there was a thunderstorm.
  • The library: all of Sarah's old books are now Sophie's, but Sarah still loves a new read, she is now figuring out how to read herself. That is super exciting when she can sound out a word and she gets it. Her eyes sparkle! AHH, motherhood moment, somebody hand me a tissue...
  • Cooking: Love to do this as a family.
  • Bathtub: the back of the tub is a great slide, and speaking of bath time, Sarah's new thing is putting bubbles in and turning on the jets. We almost lost her one night, her giggles saved her life!
  • All things dog related: Sophie is fascinated with 2 things, the doggy door and dog food. Hmm, it's a rite of passage I guess.

We do lots of things in our house, but these are some of our favorites. Share some of yours, we would love to try them out.
